Become a Yoga Teacher with School of Ashtanga Cheshire in Sandbach, Cheshire in 2027. We are now offering our 2027 Ashtanga Vinyasa 50 hour and 200 hour Teacher Training course!
May – November 2027 | Ashtanga Cheshire Studios
Two pathways. One immersive experience. A deeper understanding of yoga, its practice and the art of teaching.
Join us at Ashtanga Cheshire Studios for our 2027 Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, an immersive and comprehensive programme designed to deepen personal practice, develop teaching confidence and provide a strong foundation in the philosophy, methodology and practical application of yoga.
Rooted in the traditional principles of Ashtanga Yoga, whilst embracing the creativity and accessibility of Vinyasa, this training explores the relationship between movement, breath, alignment, philosophy and the individual practitioner.
Our programme offers two pathways: a 50-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Intensive, available as a standalone training, and a full 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, incorporating the initial intensive followed by an extended period of study, practice and practical teaching experience.
Delivered over seven months, the training combines an immersive week of learning with carefully structured weekend sessions, specialist workshops, guest teachers and independent study. This format allows students the time and space to absorb, explore and integrate their learning alongside their everyday lives.
Whether your intention is to become a yoga teacher or simply deepen your understanding of a practice you love, this training offers an opportunity to study yoga beyond the physical postures, develop your own voice and become part of a supportive community of practitioners.
Course Content
The training provides a comprehensive exploration of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, combining traditional practice with contemporary teaching methodologies.
The programme includes:
Ashtanga Vinyasa Practice: Exploring the foundations of the Ashtanga Primary Series, traditional sequencing, breath, bandhas, drishti and the relationship between movement and awareness.
Teaching Methodology: Developing the skills to confidently lead a class, including verbal instruction, effective cueing, demonstration, observation, class management and finding your authentic teaching voice.
Anatomy + Physiology: Understanding the musculoskeletal system, functional movement, joint mechanics, biomechanics and the application of anatomy within yoga practice.
Alignment + Adjustments: Exploring safe and effective alignment principles, individual anatomical differences, hands-on adjustments, verbal assists, modifications and the importance of consent.
Sequencing + Class Planning: Learning to construct intelligent, creative and purposeful Vinyasa sequences, with an understanding of progression, transitions, accessibility and energetic intention.
Yoga Philosophy: Exploring the history and foundations of yoga, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Eight Limbs of Yoga, traditional texts, ethical principles and the relevance of yogic philosophy in modern life.
Pranayama + Meditation: Developing an understanding of breathwork, meditation, concentration and their role in both personal practice and teaching.
The Art of Teaching: Practical teaching exercises, peer feedback, observation, reflection and opportunities to develop confidence through supported teaching experience.
Yoga for Business: Understanding the practicalities of becoming a yoga teacher, including professional responsibilities, marketing, class development, pricing, building a student community and creating a sustainable teaching practice.
Personal Development + Self-Practice: Encouraging reflection, consistency, curiosity and a deeper connection with yoga as an ongoing practice rather than simply a qualification.
Throughout the training, students will be encouraged to question, explore and develop their understanding through discussion, practical application, independent research and regular practice.
Course Structure
Our 2027 teacher training has been thoughtfully designed to offer an immersive learning experience without requiring students to take extended periods away from their everyday commitments.
The programme begins with a one-week, 50-hour intensive in May 2027, followed by monthly training sessions from June through November.
Part One: 50-Hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Intensive | May 2027
The opening intensive provides an opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the practice, philosophy and foundations of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
Across one week, students will explore the fundamental elements of practice and teaching through daily movement, workshops, lectures, group discussions and practical exercises.
This week establishes the foundations for the full 200-hour programme whilst also offering a complete standalone training experience for those wishing to deepen their practice without committing to the full teacher training.
The 50-hour intensive can be booked separately or completed as the first 50 hours of the 200-hour qualification.
Part Two: 150-Hour Extended Teacher Training | June – November 2027
Following the May intensive, students undertaking the full 200-hour qualification will continue their studies through a series of structured monthly training weekends.
Training will ordinarily take place on the first two Saturdays of each month, from June through November 2027.
The remaining training hours will be completed through a combination of scheduled contact sessions, extended specialist workshops, independent study, homework, teaching practice and practical assessments.
Two specialist training weekends will extend across two to three days to allow for more detailed study:
Adjustment + Alignment Intensive
A practical and interactive workshop exploring functional alignment, anatomical individuality, safe hands-on adjustments, modifications and the art of assisting students with confidence, sensitivity and consent.
Yoga Anatomy + Physiology Intensive
An in-depth exploration of anatomy, biomechanics and movement, examining how the body functions within yoga postures and how anatomical understanding can support safe, inclusive and intelligent teaching.
The extended format gives students valuable time between sessions to consolidate their learning, maintain a regular practice, complete assignments and gradually develop the confidence and skills required to teach.
Students undertaking the 200-hour qualification will be expected to complete independent study, homework, self-practice, teaching exercises and assessments alongside their scheduled training sessions.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the full 200-hour training, students will have developed:
A deeper understanding of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, its traditional foundations and contemporary applications.
The knowledge and confidence to plan, sequence and teach safe, engaging and accessible yoga classes.
A practical understanding of anatomy, biomechanics and individual anatomical differences.
Skills in observing students, offering modifications and applying appropriate alignment principles and adjustments.
Confidence in verbal cueing, demonstration, class management and holding space for different abilities.
An understanding of yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditation and their relevance to everyday life.
Experience in designing and delivering structured classes through practical teaching exercises.
An awareness of the professional, ethical and business considerations involved in becoming a yoga teacher.

Teaching Team + Guest Faculty
One of the defining elements of our teacher training is the opportunity to learn from a diverse and experienced team of teachers and specialist educators.
Rather than approaching yoga through a single perspective, our programme brings together guest teachers with expertise across different areas of practice, education and professional development.
Our specialist teaching faculty will cover:
Teaching Methodology: The principles and practical skills of becoming an effective, confident and authentic yoga teacher.
Anatomy + Physiology: Applied anatomy, functional movement, biomechanics and understanding the body in practice.
Alignment + Adjustments: Safe alignment principles, hands-on assisting, modifications and individual anatomical considerations.
Sequencing: Creative and intelligent class design, transitions, progression and building purposeful Vinyasa practices.
Yoga Philosophy: Traditional yogic teachings, philosophical foundations and the relationship between ancient wisdom and contemporary life.
Yoga for Business: Building a sustainable teaching career, professional development, marketing, business foundations and establishing your place within the wider yoga community.
Each specialist contributes their own experience, perspective and teaching style, creating a varied and well-rounded educational experience.
Our intention is to offer students the opportunity to learn not only what to teach, but why and how — developing a thoughtful, informed and individual approach to yoga.
Full teaching faculty and guest teacher biographies will be announced ahead of the training.
Eligibility + Accreditation
This training is designed for dedicated yoga practitioners who wish to deepen their knowledge, explore the foundations of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and potentially progress towards teaching professionally.
You do not need to be an advanced practitioner or be able to perform complex postures to join the training.
We welcome students with a consistent yoga practice, a willingness to learn and an open, curious approach to study.
The 50-hour intensive is suitable for practitioners seeking an immersive educational experience, including existing yoga teachers wishing to expand their knowledge.
The 200-hour programme is intended for those seeking a foundational yoga teaching qualification, alongside practitioners who wish to undertake a comprehensive study of yoga for personal development.
Successful completion of the full programme will require attendance, participation, independent study, completion of coursework and satisfactory practical teaching assessments.
Accreditation and professional registration details will be confirmed prior to enrolment. The standalone 50-hour intensive does not constitute a full 200-hour yoga teaching qualification.
